Know what to expect so there are no nasty surprises.
7. What is your design process?
It’s really important you know what to expect throughout your project. Talk to your designer first about time frames and how they usually move through the different design stages.
Will you be expected to sign off work before they can continue? Will they let you know if more budget is require for custom work, or just add it to your bill at the end?
This is how we approach our design process, feel free to use it as a base for a discussion with your designer:
Step 1. Agree the approach based on a budget, i.e. custom design or a bought theme.
Step 2. Plan the website. Structure it to meet the Goals, i.e, attain Leads or Sales.
Step 3. Create a copy-deck for the writer, i.e. our copywriter or you/your staff.
Step 4. Begin the design process, showing you proofs to make sure you’re happy with the design and understand why the design we produce is built to convert.
Step 5. When the design is approved we move into building the website. This is combination of configuration and coding.
Step 6. Testing. Our developers test the website and hand it over to you to test.
Step 7. Go Live.
